40-hr Industrial Radiation Safety Officer (Classroom)
Course developed for RSOs in the field responsible for radiographers, well-loggers, and gauge users. Focuses on basics of radioactivity and impact on human body, how to measure radioactive exposures, dosimeters, procedures and equipment to measure radioactivity, discussion of incidents and accidents (how to prevent and respond) and best practices of radiographers and companies. Specific focus is placed on how to create an individualized radiation protection program, the RSO’s role in compliance, RAM licensure, and how to administer and manage programs. Meets NDT IRSP and NRC requirements. Certificates awarded to those scoring 70% or higher on comprehensive exam. 4 days of instruction.
